NATURALISTIC QUILTING

A Virtual Workshop with Julius Arthur

Join artist and maker Julius Arthur for an inspiring exploration of abstract textile collage, drawing on the natural world and personal heritage as sources of creativity.

In this workshop, you’ll use nature and landscape as references to discover shapes, forms, and textures that evoke a sense of place. Through patchwork and appliqué techniques, you’ll experiment with colour, composition, and layering to create small, sculptural textile artworks. Play with scale, shapes, and negative space to build abstract compositions that reflect your connection to the landscape and your own unique perspective.

Designed for all skill levels, this class invites you to engage with fabric in an intuitive and playful way, deepening your connection to both the craft of quilting and the landscapes that inspire you.

This is an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and explore the intersection of nature, creativity, personal storytelling, and sculptural composition through textiles.
